  • Since 2005, the Michael Stars Foundation has been funding grassroots organizations working to create a more equitable world – both in our backyard of Los Angeles and around the globe. Your commitment to our brand allows us to continue supporting communities in need.

How We Make a Difference

Gender Equality

We support organizations who work tirelessly to end gender-based violence, empower young women globally, advocate for equal treatment of women and girls under the law, ensure gender equity in the workforce, and build women’s collective power. We also support organizations working to protect reproductive rights for all.

Voting Rights

In 2020 we partnered with icon and activist Gloria Steinem to benefit incredible grassroots organizations, led by women of color, working to increase voter registration and turnout – and we continue to support organizations that protect voting rights for all through partnerships with organizations like I Am A Voter.

Direct Services

We have provided over 40,000 meals to communities throughout Los Angeles as well as cash grants, diapers, masks, and other emergency relief direct services to frontline workers and vulnerable populations. And, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we provided masks to women in India through World Pulse. Additionally, we’re supporting our houseless neighbors by sponsoring events that provide showers, dog grooming, hot food, bagged lunches, hygiene kits, clothing, and more through organizations like Black Women Lead.

Mentorship + Education

We’ve been able to provide over 2,220 teen girls with mentorship and education programs through our longtime partnership with Step Up. We also support organizations like Children Mending Hearts whose work helps expand arts education programs and anti-bullying workshops, reaching over 30,000 students in 1,200 classrooms globally.

Environmental Justice

We are committed to bettering the planet through partnerships with local nonprofits to plant 3,000 sq ft of kelp forest off the coast of Southern California. We also use sustainable fabrics like SUPIMA® Cotton and Tencel, and over 70% of our garments are made in our home of Los Angeles to reduce our carbon footprint.
